Share The Blessings

downloadThere was a turbulent period in my life where I lived in a world of self-pity and I constantly complained to the Lord whenever led to do for others. Tearful, I would beg: “Why do You always ask me to bless others? Don’t You see MY pain? Can’t You bless ME too?” God’s Holy Spirit then answered me with this: “In order to bless others through you – I had to have blessed YOU first.”

What a humbling lesson! He showed me by helping others: 1) It took the focus off me, and 2) Taught me about selfishness. Remember, there are always those less fortunate than ourselves. Yet out of gratitude to our Lord, we should be willing to share the blessings He provides us – whether our lot in life is plenty or paltry. So let’s give, my peeps! God bless!

You Can Go To The Rock

dh
I’ve been under a bit of stress lately, something that I don’t experience a lot of. Feeling burdened and overwhelmed with the different things in life that seem to come all at once from here, there and everywhere in order to distract, discourage and burden one down.

But I thank the Lord thy God that in times like these I can go to Him because He has given me the power of His word to speak over my situation. The authority to lighten my load by casting the weight of my circumstances over to Him and find rest for my soul

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. – 1 Peter 5:7, KJV

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. – Matthew 11:28-30, KJV

download (1)“Oh Lord, my God, I cried to you for help, and You restored my health. You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.” (Psalm 30:2-3)

I remember a period in my life when I had no joy; so much so that I wanted to die. I felt as if I’d fallen into a pit and couldn’t find my way out. Yet, as in this Psalm, I cried out to the Lord – and He heard me! Eventually, He restored totally my joy, my peace, my sanity. And if you’re in need, He’ll do the same for you! Unfortunately, sometimes the holidays brings with it depression, but remember the reason for the season: the joyous Good News of our Savior! That alone will keep us from falling into our emotional pits. God bless!

It’s The Way Things Work

Rom“And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God and who are called according to His purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28) – Most think this only pertains to “good things”, however God uses both the good AND bad, our triumphs AND our troubles, to bring about growth in our lives.

Sometimes we need to work our “spiritual muscles” to become stronger children in Christ, and we do that in the midst of troubled times – not easy ones. Much like our physical bodies,if we don’t exercise our muscles, we become weak – it’s the same with our spiritual health. So let’s not view our weighty trials with fear, but gladly allow God to use them for our greater good.

(Hebrews 13:6) Remember, he who is the creator of the universe always has your back – no matter who or what  comes up against you. Isn’t that awesome to know? Have a fantastically blessed and awesome day today!
