“Oh Lord, my God, I cried to you for help, and You restored my health. You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.” (Psalm 30:2-3)
I remember a period in my life when I had no joy; so much so that I wanted to die. I felt as if I’d fallen into a pit and couldn’t find my way out. Yet, as in this Psalm, I cried out to the Lord – and He heard me! Eventually, He restored totally my joy, my peace, my sanity. And if you’re in need, He’ll do the same for you! Unfortunately, sometimes the holidays brings with it depression, but remember the reason for the season: the joyous Good News of our Savior! That alone will keep us from falling into our emotional pits. God bless!
