Have you ever felt like you had to be living a certain kind of life or meet a certain standard of holiness for God to use you?  You don’t. God will use His enemies, and even the devil to accomplish His work.  So, don’t for a minute think He doesn’t use you. You do realize that you are already being used of God?  We all are no matter what our status is in life God will use us.  What fulfillment it would bring to be used by God…to speak life into a wayward child, be an example of sharing, help save a marriage.  It doesn’t always need to be done on a grand scale and the fact is pastors, prophets and bishops are not the only one’s God will use to bring Him glory.  We all can be used as instruments for the Lord.  Now whether that be as a vessel of honor or dishonor is totally up to us as individuals.  In fact let’s look at what the Apostle Paul is saying about this subject in 2 Timothy 2:20-22

2 Timothy 2:20-22

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

From this scripture we know that it is not up to us if we will be used by God or not, but our choice is how God will use us.  For honor? or dishonor?   If you desire to be used as an instrument for noble purpose despite your background, your past, what you use to do or who you use to be then simply do as the word reads in 2 Timothy 2:20-22 and cleanse yourself by seeking the word of God and applying it to your life.  Aiming for and pursuing righteousness, faith, love and peace just as it states in verse 22 of Timothy. And that will ensure you will be used as a vessel of honor sanctified and useful for the Master.
