nfg“The beginning of strife is as when water first trickles [from a crack in a dam]; therefore stop contention before it becomes worse and quarreling breaks out.” Proverbs 17:14

I’m talking about arguments. It’s so easy for a little disagreement to turn into something major and blown out of proportion when we can’t keep our temper or slow our tongue.  I’ve experienced that just today and it’s no fun feeling so, I encourage myself along with others when faced with the temptation to respond as a child of God choosing to walk in the spirit that you do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

Proverbs 25:28 says that “he who has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down and without walls.”

It’s up to us to keep ourselves in check and governed by the word of God when faced with such temptations to strike back. We need not be concerned about what the other person is doing or saying that will start a quarrel or keep it going.  On the contrary it’s our responsibility to  have rule over our own thoughts, words, and actions keeping them in good order so that we wont be as a broken down city without walls exposed to the enemy and allowing our desires and the temptations of satan to overtake us.

Be a blessing!
