No one should form an acquaintance with one who has an evil character. A piece of coal, if it is hot burns, and if it’s cold, blackens the hands.
We often find ourselves not paying attention to the relationships we allow ourselves to enter (or exit). We spend so much time hanging around people who don’t necessarily add any real value to our life. They of course may be “good people”, but they have no “fruit on the tree” and are incapable of helping us get where we want, if we are really going anywhere or desire to go anywhere at all. Yet, though they have no fruit on the tree, we often go to these people for advice and they’re failing just as we are; they’re incapable of helping us at all.
