Are there things you always said you’d do one day…but that day has never come. Maybe you said you would like to learn a second language, paint the garage, plant a garden, or even plan a romantic picnic. These are all wonderful ideas but, between the kids, the spouse, and not to mention the demanding job along with other life distractions it seems these goals will never be attained. As I’ve grown to realize and witness for myself life goes by so fast, in fact if you’re not careful it will pass you right on by and you will have accomplished not even the simple things you really want to do in life.
I read about how the famous painter Picasso continued producing drawings even until he was ninety years old. I actually have well aged neighbors who are constantly working in the yard, taking daily walks and leading very productive lives. This is inspiring and shows me that life is too precious to sit around waiting for the “right time” to start doing the things you want to do. Put forth the effort and take steps to reach your goals. I know personally this is something that I am going to commit to. There are all sorts of things that I want to experience but have put off for years. Let’s not put off for tomorrow what we can do today. Are you up for the challenge?
Whatever your goals are determine today to begin taking the steps to reaching them. Is it your goal to work on your relationship? Give to a local charity? Run a marathon? Or maybe taking that long-awaited vacation you’ve always wanted. It’s never to late, let’s start today!
